Public Records Requests
ATTENTION:
Please note that the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has its own policies and form for requests for records. Find the LCSO's form here for Public Records Requests (PDF). All requests for sheriff's office records must use this PDF form, not the fillable form below.
Circuit Court Records
Lincoln County is not the custodian of circuit court records, such as divorce decrees, estates (probate), civil judgements and criminal convictions.
To request records from the Lincoln County Circuit Court, use this portal: Court Records Request. You can also locate cases using the Oregon Judicial Department's Smart Search.
See the Lincoln County Circuit Court website for more information about the court.

General Requests
It is the policy of Lincoln County to respond in an orderly, consistent and reasonable manner in accordance with the Oregon Public Records Law to requests to inspect or receive copies of public records maintained by Lincoln County. Many public record requests are made orally and are simultaneously satisfied in the normal course of business.
This procedure is not intended to replace established departmental procedures of this kind. Other records are of a specialized nature and require specific written requests or releases before records can be released. Check with the specific department or office to see if there are required written request or release forms, otherwise you may use the general PDF or fillable form below. Each written request will receive a written response.

Records Fees
Payment for services associated with a Public Records Request can be levied based on the estimated hours of work needed to produce the request. If so, you will be sent an invoice with the estimated charges. Once the invoice is paid, the County will start working on your request. Approved methods of payment are either a cashier's check or money order in the exact amount of the invoice. Please include a copy of the invoice with your payment. If filling the request takes less time than estimated, the county will issue a refund for the overage.
Planning Department Research Requests
The Department of Planning and Development has a Research Request form that might be more appropriate for land use related records. You can find that form at this link: Planning and Development Research Request
