Join Our Team! Volunteer at LCAS and/or Foster an Animal in Need
We are accepting applications for a variety of tasks at your Lincoln County Animal Shelter. Our most pressing need is for in shelter enrichment volunteers. This may be singing to cats or playing fetch with dogs. Every minute a shelter animal gets to spend with a volunteer makes their stay with us even better.
We are also hoping to recruit more experienced dog walkers! Most of the dogs who come to us leave a lot to be desired when it comes to leash manners. This often means the 70 to 80 pound pup at the end of your leash is going to pull! We need strong, experienced dog walkers to help them learn how to NOT pull over their future owners!
We also always in need of foster homes. Our goal is to have 300 homes available as a safety net for animals throughout our entire community. We anticipate needing to find fosters for up to 600 cats and kittens during peak kitten season (between May and October). Thank you for joining our life saving network getting animals into safe homes, and for spreading kindness and compassion to our neighbors needing to rehome their pets.
To become a volunteer or foster, we will need to complete a very simple background check to ensure the safety of the animals in our care through our Volunteer/Foster application.
