The Community Shelter and Resource Center is a safe, affirming space for all, including pets.
2025-26 Season Information: November 10 - April 30.

Check-in is required for all guests:
Check-in is only from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm each night.
All guests check out by 7:00 am each morning.
Transportation Information:
Call 541-270-1005 to arrange for a ride to either shelter. Rides start at 6 pm and end at 3 am.
Free public transit tickets have been made available to transport people to the shelters.
Shelter Rules and Guest Agreement:

Become a Volunteer!
Volunteers are needed - to help provide a warm safe place for all to sleep, get a meal, bring their pets, and get support.
To Volunteer:
Complete BOTH the CSRC Volunteer Application Form (PDF) and the Background Check Release Form (PDF) and return them by mail or in person to:
Lincoln County Human Resources: 210 SW 2nd St., Newport OR 97365
Ways you can volunteer include:
Registration, food service*, cleaning, laundry, clothes closet.
Shifts are for early mornings or evenings, any day of the week.
Two paid staff are always at the shelter to assist our volunteers in running the program smoothly.
All volunteers receive orientation and free training!
Note: All volunteers must pass a background check through Lincoln County Human Resources and complete volunteer orientation and training before volunteering with shelter guests.
*Food Services volunteers will be given food handler training and must pass the Food Handler's test.
Socks, waterproof shoes, and warm clothing are always in high demand.
