Sara started with the Lincoln County Animal Shelter (LCAS) in October 2007 as a part time Kennel Attendant. In April 2008 she was promoted to a full time and remained an Animal Care Specialist until January 2015 when she began working as an Animal Services Deputy. On February 1, 2022, Sara rejoined the shelter team as Animal Shelter Manager.
Sara grew up in Lincoln County and was always focused on helping animals. Sara and her Dad would regularly deliver food to the Lincoln County Animal Shelter and volunteered to walk shelter dogs. Sara graduated from Newport High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Zoology from Oregon State University. Sara's focus was in animal behavior and she spent time volunteering with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation organizations. Family brought her back to Lincoln County and a ride along with an Animal Services Deputy renewed her passion for animal welfare.
Sara spends much of her time with her husband, Lowell, her dog, Roci, and her two cats, Littlefoot and Barry Goldberg, all of whom are LCAS alumni (except Lowell, of course). She enjoys outdoor activities, taking Roci to agility classes, and spending time with her friends and family.
