Big Foot Spotted During Saturation Patrol

Big Foot in Patrol Car

Depoe Bay is well-known for whale sightings and tours, but this week our very own Deputy Dowty was lucky enough to spot Big Foot tromping down the seawall during our most recent saturation patrol. On November 14th our Patrol team completed a Depoe Bay to Lincoln City saturation patrol to help increase awareness and driver education.

The team had 76 law enforcement contacts including:

  • 66 traffic stops
  • 4 citizen contacts
  • 3 area checks
  • 1 illegal park
  • 1 traffic assist
  • 1 arrest warrant attempt
  • 1 encounter with bigfoot (not included in the 76 total)

Out of all of the contacts made during this saturation patrol, only 5 traffic citations were issued, 1 arrest was made for driving while suspended, and a clear photo of Big Foot was captured.
