Payment Schedules

Property taxes may be paid in installments using one of the following schedules.

Payment must have a postmark no later than November 15th. If the postmark is later than November 15th, discount is not allowed and interest will accrue on the past due installment. The interest rate is 1.333% per month or fraction of a month until paid. (ORS 311.505)

New legislation effective 2022: HB 3143. Even though interest will not accrue on the first 1/3 of the taxes until after December 15th, a discount is only given if the payment is postmarked by November 15th. Failure to pay in full by November 15th will result in a loss of the 3% discount. Failure to pay the first 2/3 by November 15th will result in a loss of the 2% discount.

Property Tax Payment Options:

  • Full Payment
    • Pay the "Full Payment" on or before November 15th and receive a 3% discount. Tax statements for less than $40 must be paid in full.
  • Two-thirds payment
    • Pay the "2/3 Payment" on or before November 15th and receive a 2% discount. The final one-third payment is due by May 15th.
  • One-third payment (see note)
    • Pay the one-third payment amount on or before November 15th. There is no discount. The second one-third is due February 15th and the final one-third payment is due May 15th.

(note) If you choose the one-third installment payment plan, Lincoln County will send a reminder notice for the payment due February 15th, and for the payment due May 15th.

Property tax payments must be credited to the earliest year that taxes are due.
