waste reduction
recycling promotion
reduce and reuse promotion
backyard composting
control of illegal dumping

Donate those shoes you never wear. Disaster victims and those in need will love you for having a decent pair of shoes to wear. Our collection is over; however, we are working on a permanent collection location. We will announce the location here.

Reuseable Cups and Mugs are an effective way to reduce waste, and avoid the environmental problems associated with using too many one-time-use paper, plastic and styrofoam (yuck) cups. Drop by the Newport Wake Up Espresso for a chance to win one.

Those old worn out athletic shoes can have another full life when they are converted into Nike Grind which is used for a number of surfaces (tracks, basketball courts, etc.). Collection bins are available at -

Portable Recycling Stations Available - if you are planning an event and want to provide recycling we now have Clear Stream portable recycling stations for plastic bottles, cans and paper. These stations are available on loan to responsible groups or organizations that want to do the right thing and reduce their waste as much as possible. Please call 541-265-4171 for more information. We have a limited number of stations so please call well ahead of events you are planning.
