Park Description

This park was the original location of the Drift Creek Covered Bridge. Completed in 1933, the bridge had deteriorated to the point that it was considered unsafe.

In 1997, upon learning that the bridge was to be demolished, a local family requested that the bridge be dismantled and reconstructed on their property. Laura and Kerry Sweitz spearheaded an extensive effort to raise funds and recruit labor for the relocation of the historic covered bridge. It is now available for viewing by the public on Bear Creek Road.

DIRECTIONS: To the new location of the Drift Creek Covered Bridge: From Lincoln City, turn east onto Hwy 18. ( Salmon River Hwy) At milepost 4.9, turn south onto Bear Creek Road. Drive for approximately one mile, you will see the bridge on your left hand side. It is asked that you park here and walk the rest of the way to the bridge.
