Where: Auctions are held at the Sheriff's impound lot, under the same terms as the last auction (see below for info). The Sheriff's impound lot is located at 840 NE 7th Street, Newport, Oregon (next to the Lincoln County Fairgrounds and across the street from the Newport Middle School).

What: The auction usually includes a number of vehicles and other surplus property.

Important Notice

The vehicles and other surplus property being auctioned are sold "AS IS." Lincoln County does not warrant, guarantee, or make any claim as to the condition of any property sold at public auction. Many of the vehicles have not been operated for a substantial period of time, and it is likely that many will not be in running condition on Saturday, September 2, 2006. In addition, many registration tags have expired. Therefore, buyers should be prepared to make alternative arrangements for transportation of vehicles purchased at the auction.

               


The Fine Print

truck ADVANCE VIEWING of the vehicles will be on the morning of the auction only. Persons desiring to view any of the vehicles in advance of the auction may do so by coming to the auction site between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on the morning of the auction.

Each bidder will be assigned a BIDDER NUMBER prior to the start of the auction.

There is no MINIMUM BID for any vehicle.

Each vehicle will be sold to the highest bidder for CASH.

On bids accepted over $1,000, the successful bidder may elect to deposit EARNEST MONEY CASH in the amount of 20 percent of the sales price, with a signed agreement to pay the remainder of the purchase price and complete the sale documents no later than Wednesday, September 6, 2006, and subject to other terms established by a written earnest money agreement (NOTE: The earnest money is forfeited if the sale is not completed by September 6, 2006).

blue car The County may determine that one or more vehicles or other property are NOT APPROPRIATE for public auction, due to age or condition. The County may elect to sell all such vehicles, along with any vehicles not sold at the public auction, to one or more licensed WRECKERS at a price or prices, and upon such terms, as negotiated between the County and such wrecker or wreckers.
