The adoption fee for adult dogs is $150 and $200 for puppies (under 6 months).  The adoption fee is $30 for adult cats and $50 for kittens (under 6 months). All adoptions include initial vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, and a certificate for a free examination with a local veterinarian. Dog adoptions also include one-year license, leash, collar, and two free behavior consultations.

The shelter's Seniors for Seniors program reduces the adoption fee for senior animals, over 8 years, to qualified senior citizens, over 55 years.  The adoption fee is $55 for dogs and $15 for cats.

We understand that adopting a pet is a big decision with many factors to consider.  We offer full refunds for animals returned within one week of adoption in order to give everyone in your family an opportunity to see if it is a perfect fit. We also offer full refunds if your free veterinary visit reveals medical issues you are not able or willing to take on.  (Please note that it takes a few weeks to process a refund.)

To meet an animal at our shelter, please visit during regular business hours (Tuesday-Saturday from 12:00-5:00).  Please bring all members of your family (including dogs if you are adopting another dog). We do ask for permission from your landlord, if you rent, and that your dogs be licensed.  You may place an animal on hold for a fee of $10.00 per day for two days (48 hours) at the shelter or by phone.  Phone messages will be returned in the order they are received (please call to leave a message even if we are closed).

Please note that the shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we make our best guess based on appearance. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.

There are a number of internet resources to help guide your decision to adopt, and our Animal Care Specialists are happy to assist you. You may also search for pets on Adoptapet.com, Petfinder.com and Petango.com.
